The former Manchester United man was subject to a bid from Leicester City, but the Baggies need to keep the Northern Ireland international.

Following news that West Bromwich Albion rejected a £10million bid from Leicester City for Jonny Evans, as reported by the Daily Mail, it is vital that the Baggies keep hold of the Northern Ireland international, especially after losing Darren Fletcher.
Fresh from bidding for Hull City’s Harry Maguire, it seems Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare wants to bolster his defensive options, but the same Mail report claims that West Brom have told the Foxes’ boss that the 29-year-old is not for sale.

This stance is something that West Brom boss Tony Pulis must stick to, as Evans is an integral part of that Baggies side, and now that Fletcher has departed for Stoke City, it’s highly likely that Evans will be the club captain next season.
The former Manchester United defender has been a rock at the back for Puliss’ side since he signed for the Baggies in 2015, and Evans has gone on to make 65 appearances in all competitions for West Brom.

31 of those came last season as Evans yet again demonstrated his quality at Premier League level, and finding someone to replace both his defensive ability and leadership from the back will be a tall order for Pulis, even with the whole of the summer ahead.
The best way for clubs to progress is to keep hold of their best players and put added quality around them.
West Brom have already lost one of their best players already in Fletcher, to lose a second would be disastrous for the Baggies.
