The Gers will face their Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-final in what’s been a long season for fans.
Rangers’ Joey Barton looks dejected
Glasgow Rangers have a huge chance to save their season having drawn their Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
For a club that has a mentality of ‘second isn’t good enough’, despite being back in the Scottish Premiership for the first time since 2012, it’s been a rough ride for Rangers, with the club currently sitting in third – 33 points behind leaders Celtic.
As well as this, former boss Mark Warburton departed the club in acrimonious circumstances, and with the club six points behind second placed Aberdeen, there hasn’t been much to cheer for at Ibrox this season.
However, that can be put to one side if Rangers can repeat their heroics in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final, by defeating their seemingly unbeatable city rivals.

Interim boss Graeme Murty’s task isn’t an easy one, as Celtic haven’t lost a domestic match all season, but in a one-off match where Rangers have a lot less to lose than Celtic, they’re capable of beating their opponents to reach the final.
The odds will be stacked against Murty’s side, but if Rangers can become the first Scottish team to beat their so far invincible rivals, then that stat will almost be as good as a trophy for Rangers fans in what’s been a difficult campaign.
