The caretaker manager seems completely out of his depth as the Reds slide towards the bottom three.

As Nottingham Forest trudged off the pitch at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium following a devastating 1-0 loss – creating just one chance of note in 90 minutes – it became very clear what comes next if there’s no change.

If fans didn’t think caretaker manager Gary Brazil was out of his depth before, they certainly do now. With Forest just two points above the drop zone, it’s looking increasingly likely they will go down if Brazil remains at the helm.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t entirely Brazil’s fault, as after all, he’s the youth manager who’s done an excellent job in pushing through kids who’ve given fans hope in a diabolical season – ultimately he’s the fall guy for owner Fawaz Al Hasawi’s numerous costly errors.

However, Brazil has to take some responsibility, as a number of his player selections and tactical decisions have backfired massively, leaving Forest in a precarious state.

The fact that two of the club’s January signings in Gboly Ariyibi and Joao Teixeira are still yet to make their club debuts is completely baffling, especially when Brazil insists on shoving players out of position.

Blackburn Rovers have shown just how important hiring a good manager can be, and unless Forest do similar and act swiftly, then League One beckons.
