What will be most pleasing for Villa fans, and indeed Bruce, is that while the club have recorded successive victories, they have also kept two clean sheets, which is the foundation for any side who wants to be successful.
Villa have an outstanding chance of making it three wins – and three clean sheets – in a row on Saturday, where they face a completely doomed Rotherham United.
Rotherham have conceded a staggering 77 goals so far this season, and against a Villa side full of attacking threat and renewed confidence, you would not bet against Bruce’s men running riot. It is certainly looking like Bruce has turned a corner at Villa Park and not before time.
