The former Birmingham City manager is still looking for work.

Former Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has been speaking to the Birmingham Mail about the vacancy at Leicester City, declaring that the position would be one that greatly interests him.
The 42-year-old was bizarrely sacked from Birmingham after more than two years at St. Andrews in December, despite the Blues sitting in seventh position, outside the play-offs on goal difference and just three points behind third place.
Since then, Rowett has been linked with the vacant managerial positions at a host of clubs when they have opened up, including Hull City, Swansea City and Nottingham Forest, yet he remains unemployed for the time being.
However, it appears if Leicester were to offer him the job, Rowett would have no hesitation in filling the void left by Claudio Ranieri and returning to his former club.

“I’m sat at home waiting for the right opportunity to come along and, of course, Leicester would be an amazing one,” Rowett said, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
“But I think it’s still raw for everybody, it’s still raw for the media and everyone in football but no, nothing yet.
“I played there for two years. I played a season in the Premier League and we played in the UEFA Cup, so I had good experiences at Leicester and it’s an excellent club.”

Leicester are currently 15th in the Premier League, just two points above the relegation zone, but recently claimed their first league win of 2017 with a 3-1 victory over Liverpool to ease the pressure at the King Power Stadium.
