The highly talented 20-year-old has not featured once for Forest’s caretaker boss.
Nottingham Forest’s Hildeberto Pereira celebrates scoring their third goal
Nottingham Forest caretaker boss Gary Brazil has praised on-loan versatile wing back Hildeberto Pereira, suggesting that he’s close to a first-team return.
20-year-old Pereira is on loan from Benfica, and was a key part of former boss Philippe Montanier’s side. However, since Brazil took over midway through January, Pereira hasn’t featured once.
That decision has infuriated fans, who have become incensed at seeing the first team struggle while Periera regularly turns out for the U23’s – and were angrier yet when Periera recently performed brilliantly against Hull City’s U23’s, but picked up a nasty shoulder injury.
However, Brazil has suggested that he believes Pereira’s attitude is improving, and but for his injury, could have been involved in this weekend’s crucial Championship fixture away at Wigan Athletic.

“It was a good performance from him in the under-23 side,” Brazil said, as reported by the Nottingham Post. “But he did pick up that injury and he is still feeling sore with it.
“It is frustrating that he played like that and then got his injury. It’s frustrating for everyone.
“He is a lovely lad who, when he understands how much he has to give to get what he wants out of the game, will be a real threat.”

Periera has two goals and two assists in 19 Championship fixtures for Forest, and has lit up an otherwise gloomy City Ground with a series of dazzling performances.
However, his good form has been marred by shambolic discipline, with Pereira incredibly being sent off three times this season, along with being shown yellow on four occasions.
