The Whites did not do much in the January window compared to other teams, but the signings have all contributed.

Now the dust has properly settled from the January transfer window, fans would have started to make a proper judgement on their mid-season dealings, of which there were not many at Leeds United.

It seemed as if manager Garry Monk went in with a very ‘if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it’ attitude, with only three signings being made, one of which was a loan player signed in the summer having his temporary stay turned into a permanent one.

With just eight matches left to play, here is how Leeds’ January signings have done so far.

Pablo Hernandez – A

The 31-year-old winger, who had played with and was managed by Monk at Swansea City, has been exceptional for Leeds since his move from Qatari side Al-Arabi on a loan basis in the summer, and had his move made permanent on 9 January.

Since his switch to Elland Road was made permanent, Hernandez has been unplayable at times with five assists and one goal in 12 games, establishing himself as one of the Championship’s best play-makers this season.

Mo Barrow – D

It is still very early days for Barrow, who is yet to start at match at Elland Road, but the on loan Swansea City winger has not hit the proverbial ground running at Leeds.

In Barrow’s four appearances so far, all of which coming from the bench, he is yet to show the Leeds faithful what he is really capable of. The 24-year-old is tremendously quick, so he remains a useful option on the bench for now, but Leeds fans will want to see more from their new loanee.

Alfonso Pedraza – B

Leeds’ other loan signing in Pedraza however, whom they acquired from Villarreal, has found his feet in the Championship very quickly. The attacking midfielder, who can play on the wing as well, has looked a very useful addition since his loan switch, and currently has one goal in six games for the Whites.

A class act on the ball, Leeds will be hoping that with Pedraza and Hernandez supplying striker Chris Wood, that their play-off charge does not falter and the club remain in the top six come May.
