The left back has struggled with injuries all season, but was outstanding in the club’s 3-0 win at the weekend.
Armand Traore – Queens Park Rangers
While Nottingham Forest fans had lots to be happy about following their 3-0 Championship win over Brighton & Hove Albion, one thing in particular was left back Armand Traore’s performance.
Questions were asked as to whether the summer signing could hack it against a second placed Brighton side having just returned from yet another injury lay off, but the former Arsenal man proved his critics wrong with an outstanding display.
Despite being warned by fans of Traore’s last club, Queens Park Rangers, that the 27-year-old wouldn’t be good enough for the Reds and would be injured all the time, Forest fans were willing to give their new man a chance.
While QPR fans have ultimately been proved correct on his injury record, question marks over Traore’s ability are disappearing following a textbook performance against one of the best attacking sides in the Championship.
Tottenham’s Eric Dier and QPR’s Armand Traore
What made Traore’s impeccable display even more astounding was that it was his just his eighth league appearance of the season, and his first 90 minutes for the club since September.
QPR’s loss is Forest’s gain, and if Traore can maintain both his form and his fitness, then the Reds could have left back – a hugely problematic position for them for years – finally sorted with both Traore and Dani Pinillos.
