Ian Wright has warned Tottenham if the Arsenal, that beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, turn up for the north London derby, then they will be ‘causing problems’, as he told Premier League Productions (20/04/22 at 10:15 pm).
Arsenal recorded a valuable 4-2 win against Chelsea and Wright added that it gives him ‘more confidence’ ahead of that trip to Spurs next month.
As things stand, both teams are sitting fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Premier League table, as they chase down that final Champions League spot.
Antonio Conte’s side have the upper hand because they have the better goal difference, but from now until the end of the season, this top-four race will, no doubt, provide more twist and turns.
Nonetheless, when Arsenal saw off their London rivals Chelsea last night, this is what Wright had to say about the forthcoming Spurs match.
“You look at where Tottenham are, you don’t know what Tottenham you are going to get,” said Wright. “We saw Brighton go there the other day and stifle them.
“Seeing Arsenal go away to Chelsea and do that, it gives you more confidence going into a north London derby knowing they are capable of breaking and causing teams problems.
“It comes down to taking half chances. They took them against Chelsea. They have shown what happens when you can take them.
“They have enough character that if they do go behind, then they will keep going, which is brilliant.”

Arsenal are the more well-rounded team and they have a better balance to their squad when everyone is fit and available.
Nobody will doubt, with Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane leading the line, that Spurs can destroy any team that is put in their way.
That was proven when they beat Manchester City at the Etihad, with Kane possibly producing his best performance in years.
All in all, this is going to be a north London derby for the ages and one of the most highly-charged games in years and years.
