Chris Wilder has urged Gareth Bale to stay at Real Madrid and snub the chance to join Tottenham this summer.
The Sheffield United boss thinks that Bale’s arrival would just ’cause another problem’ for his team, as he told Sky Sports (16/09/20 at 10:35 am).
Sky Sports are reporting that Bale is closing in on a return to North London and he is just waiting for the green light so he can fly back to England from Spain.
Wilder made it clear that a player like Bale playing for the opposition makes his life more difficult as a manager, but he can understand why he wants to return to the Premier League.
“I said a couple of years ago when we first landed in the Premier League and Eden Hazard was going to Real Madrid that I would give him a lift to the airport,” Wilder told Sky Sports.
“And hopefully Gareth stays in Madrid. It’s a lovely place, Madrid. There are some great Golf courses. Don’t make it any harder for us, Gareth and Spurs
“I am not surprised that he wants to come and play in the Premier League. Our experience of it over the last year has been fabulous and we want more of that. I suppose there will be a lot of Spurs fans wishing that to happen today.
“But I don’t think there will be a lot of Sheffield United fans wishing for that to happen because that just causes another problem when we have to play the likes of Tottenham and the other bigger hitters.”

Many weeks ago, and during this past weekend, a lot of fans would have argued that Tottenham have a slim chance of securing Champions League football this season.
But if the 83-cap Wales international makes his expected move then those seemingly slim chances will increase by a large percentage.
Jose Mourinho could potentially have a front three of – Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Gareth Bale at his disposal, which would no doubt cause coaches such as Wilder to have more sleepless nights.
