Chris Sutton has once again been doing his predictions for the BBC, and he thinks there are going to be a lot of goals in one of this weekend’s games.

Indeed, the pundit has predicted that Liverpool vs Leeds will be a goalfest, but Leeds United fans may want to look away now as he’s predicted a big win for the Reds.

The former Blackburn Rovers striker has claimed that Liverpool will beat Leeds United 6-1 this weekend, but at least that’s better than last season’s effort that saw the Whites hammered 6-0 in one of Marcelo Bielsa’s final games as manager.

Liverpool 6-1 Leeds

Sutton predicted the game and gave his reasoning.

“Liverpool have been a ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ side all season and I keep getting them wrong – after they beat Manchester City and West Ham, going to bottom-side Nottingham Forest felt like an open goal for them, but they did not turn up,” Sutton said.

“They are at home this time, though, and they put in a really strong performance at Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“So, again, I am going to say the Reds will win comfortably and find the spark they have been missing for months. If they do, then things could get messy for Marsch and his side, because their defence is a real cause for concern.”

Curtains for Marsch

If this game does finish 6-1 to Liverpool we have to imagine that this will be Jesse Marsch’s final game as Leeds manager.

The Whites are already in the bottom three after going eight games without a win, and that sort of form just is not sustainable for any team, nevermind a side that only avoided relegation on the final day last season.

Of course, this is just a prediction, and as Nottingham Forest showed last week, Liverpool are far from invincible.
