Ralf Rangnick is set to take charge of his first Manchester United game tomorrow against Crystal Palace, with all eyes on the German.
Rangnick is one of the brightest coaching minds of his generation, and inspired the methods of Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
Therefore, if the 63-year-old speaks, it’s worth listening to.
Following a report from BILD, Celtic fans should take a keen interest in comments from Rangnick made in 2019.
What’s the story?
Well, BILD believe Celtic want Borussia Monchengladbach forward Hannes Wolf, a player Rangnick is a huge fan of.
It was Rangnick who brought the 22-year-old to RB Leipzig, and showered the Austrian in praise upon his arrival.
As quoted by the Bundesliga, the Manchester United boss said: “Hannes caught our attention due to his prominent development, which is reflected in his numerous national and international outings, in spite of his young age.
“His strengths make him a versatile option across the attacking midfield. I’m delighted he’s decided to take the next step in his career with us here.”

Clearly, Ange Postecoglou has identified an exciting talent, one who comes with the approval of a great footballing mind such as Rangnick.
If Hannes Wolf is good enough for Ralf Rangnick, he’s good enough for Celtic
Rangnick is heavily involved in football’s Red Bull revolution, which the likes of RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg have benefitted from.
Rangnick’s involvement in these sides has seen stars like Erling Haaland and Naby Keita signed for bargain fees, so he clearly has an eye for a player.

That bodes well for Celtic, if they can bring Wolf to Parkhead, that is.
Keep an eye on this saga – Wolf has been left on the bench in recent weeks by Adi Hütter, so perhaps an exit could soon be in the pipeline for him.
