Jermaine Beckford hit out on Final Score (23/10, 15:19) at the clumsy errors Leeds United produced against Wolves for Hwang Hee-Chan to open the scoring on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites hosted Wolves at Elland Road looking for only their second win in the Premier League this season. Marcelo Bielsa would have also hoped to see the West Yorkshire outfit produce an improved defensive showing.

However, Hwang broke the deadlock for Wolves after 10-minutes when Leeds failed to clear their lines from Nelson Semedo’s cross. The Portuguese had nowhere to go on the touchline, but Jack Harrison needlessly committed to let the full-back skip past.

Free to roam, Semedo found Raul Jimenez in the area, who saw Jamie Shackleton block his attempt on goal. But the ball would fall kindly to Hwang one-on-one with Illan Meslier, and the Wolves striker made no mistake to fire past the Leeds goalkeeper from six-yards out.

Beckford fumed at the errors his former side, Leeds, produced to allow Hwang a chance to score for Wolves. Hitting out at incidents like that for regularly costing the Elland Road side.

“There was a catalogue of errors,” Beckford said. “The ball has fallen to Hwang Hee-Chan, and he’s put it into an open net. A good goal for Wolves.

“Leeds had been dominating the opening exchanges, the possession stats were massively in their favour. But it’s silly mistakes like this that create these situations.”

Leeds to share Beckford anger at Hwang goal

Leeds and Bielsa will undoubtedly share Beckford’s anger at the errors they committed to allow Hwang a chance to open the scoring for Wolves at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Whites entered the weekend with one of the Premier League’s worst defensive records so far this season. Bielsa’s men had allowed 15 goals in eight games, only Newcastle United (19) and Norwich City (16) had shipped more. While the Canaries now hold an even worse record after conceding seven in defeat to Chelsea earlier on Saturday afternoon.
