Rangers forward Kenny Miller appears to be heading for the Ibrox exit, having been cast aside by manager Pedro Caixinha in a shock move last week.
The Daily Record reported last Friday that Miller had been demoted to training with the youth team after a bust-up with Caixinha, with the experienced striker now unlikely to feature in Caixinha’s plans having been picked out for criticism by the Gers boss.
Miller, 37, is currently in his third spell with Rangers, and has been something of a hero at Ibrox having hit 113 goals in 284 games for the Gers, but his time with the club appears to be ending once again.
The Scot is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Rangers may simply look to leave him go in January – and one move makes more sense than most, with a return to Hibernian looking ideal for Miller.
Back in March, The Express reported that Hibs were lining up a move to sign Miller on a free transfer before he extended his Rangers deal, and manager Neil Lennon may make another move to add a veteran presence to his side as a short-term impact player.
Lennon played alongside Miller for Celtic, and having allegedly been keen on a reunion earlier this year, a move to Easter Road could make sense for Miller – especially given his history with the Edinburgh club.
Miller started his career with Hibs, coming through the ranks as a teenager before scoring 14 goals in 53 games and earning a move to Rangers; and this latest development in his career could allow him to finish his career back where it all started.
With no future at Rangers, that could appeal to Miller, but as he approaches his 38th birthday, he may yet decide to retire and turn his hand to coaching, though a move to work under Lennon at Hibs could also make sense in that instance too.
