Casemiro incurred the wrath of a lot of people affiliated with Liverpool last night as Real Madrid moved into the semi-final of the Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane’s side held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield to move into the last four of the competition as 3-1 aggregate winners.
The Brazilian midfielder stamped his authority on the game inside 25 minutes by taking out James Milner in a no-nonsense tackle that resulted in Jurgen Klopp and many inside the Reds’ dugout – including Diogo Jota – reacting angrily.
Moments later, Andy Robertson remonstrated with Casemiro and wound up getting booked for furiously confronting the Real Madrid star.
Liverpool huffed and puffed for a lot of the game but were unable to blow down Madrid’s defence, despite having some chances to do so.
Really, the tie was lost for Klopp’s side in Madrid and here’s how Casemiro reacted on Instagram to move into the semis.
When translated, his post reads: “We are in the semi finals! Proud of this TEAM. Go Madrid!”
