Manchester United pair Casemiro and Matheus Cunha are set to represent Brazil at the World Cup this summer.
The World Cup will be on many players’ minds over the coming months, but Casemiro remains focused on his club duties. The Brazilian has already announced he’ll be leaving Manchester United at the end of the season, though that hasn’t affected his performances. Casemiro is still a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, and he’s playing regularly in midfield.
With just three points separating United from fourth-placed Liverpool, there’s still a chance they could sneak into the top four by the end of the campaign.
Casemiro and Matheus Cunha earn World Cup call-ups

There’s been a noticeable shift in the atmosphere at Old Trafford since Michael Carrick took over as head coach, stepping in after Ruben Amorim’s 14-month tenure.
Both Casemiro and Matheus Cunha have benefited from this stability. Reports suggest that Ancelotti has already identified a group of players who are likely to be included in the World Cup squad, provided they stay fit until then.
After nearly eight months in the role, Ancelotti has had plenty of time to evaluate his options and build a reliable core within the Brazil setup.
ESPN reports that 11 players are virtually assured of their spots barring any injuries or major surprises.
Casemiro and Cunha are among those included, reflecting well on their recent performances for United. Fans will be hoping they can maintain that level for the rest of the campaign.
Casemiro’s World Cup history with Brazil
Casemiro has 82 caps for Brazil, having come through the ranks at U17 and U20 level. Just eight of those appearances have come in World Cup matches.
He’ll be looking to add to that total this year, especially with this likely being his last shot at the tournament unless he manages a surprise call-up four years down the line.
Most of Casemiro’s caps (38) came in international friendlies. This will also be Matheus Cunha’s first World Cup appearance.
