Tony Cascarino has told talkSPORT that rumoured West Ham target, Kurt Zouma, has been ‘unfortunate’ at Chelsea.

There are suggestions that the 26-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge this summer and Sky Sports report how West Ham want to bring him across London.

Zouma won the Champions League with Chelsea last season, so it might be that bit difficult to lure him away from the club.

Although, Sky did claim that Zouma would welcome the West Ham move, over them trying to use him in a deal to bring Sevilla’s Jules Kounde to Stamford Bridge.

This is what former Republic of Ireland international, Cascarino, had to say about Zouma’s future.

“Tell us about a player who I think is a little bit unfortunate in Kurt Zouma,” said Cascarino.

“He has done okay at Chelsea. He went out on loan at Everton and he did very well again.

“And yet he’s snubbed a Sevilla move.”

West Ham need to start making more noises in the transfer market because a gruelling campaign awaits them.

David Moyes likes to work his players pretty hard, and given that their players aren’t used to playing on a Thursday then on a Sunday, then he needs depth.

At this moment in time, the Scotsman doesn’t have that, so they have to be one of the busier teams during this last stretch of the 2021 summer transfer window.

It’s understandable if business has been a little slow because Euro 2020 was a distraction, but now that’s out of the way and those signatures need to be sealed.
