Theo Walcott is reportedly undergoing a medical before signing for Everton.

Former Premier League star Tony Cascarino has claimed in his Times column that £20million for Arsenal speed machine Theo Walcott is a bargain for Sam Allardyce’s Everton – as well as predicting the attacker to prove Arsene Wenger wrong.

Sky Sports claim the 28-year-old has travelled to Merseyside to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move to the Toffees, and was seen entering Finch Farm ahead of a medical on Tuesday afternoon.

The former Southampton star will become Everton’s second January signing after Allardyce brought Turksh powerhouse Cenk Tosun to Goodison Park from SuperLig champions Besiktas for a fee of £27million.

Now, Walcott is expected to become Everton’s second signing and former Chelsea and Celtic star Cascarino claimed that the England international can make Arsene Wenger see what should have been.

“Walcott needs some new ideas and enthusiasm about his ability and I think that Sam Allardyce can provide that,” Cascarino said. “At £20 million the Everton manager will think he has a bargain.

“In the form of last season Walcott would be worth double that. All forward lines are mobile now and Walcott could be deadly as part of a front three at Everton, playing on the shoulder of defenders, interchanging positions with Cenk Tosun and Yannick Bolasie.

“Don’t be surprised if he shows Wenger what could have been.”

Walcott showed what he is capable of last season, scoring 19 goals in 37 league and cup encounters as he chopped and changed between being used out wide or up front.

However, this season Wenger has afforded him just 63 minutes of Premier League football with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Iwobi, Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier Giroud above the Englishman in the pecking order.

But Walcott could now form a deadly front three with Tosun and Yannick Bolasie at Goodison Park to push Everton towards the top six, as well as staking a claim for a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
