Sheffield Wednesday midfielders Kieran Lee and Sam Hutchinson were both missing last time out.
Carlos Carvalhal has shared mixed news on the Sheffield Wednesday injury front.
The Owls return to action against Bristol City this weekend, seeking their third straight win after a woeful run which saw them drop to 16th in the Championship.
But Carvalhal’s side are boosted by the return of at least one absentee ahead of the Robins’ visit to Hillsborough.
Discussing the fitness of Kieran Lee via Wednesday’s official Facebook page, the Portuguese said: “We must manage him.
“He must stay out against Millwall (but when he came on) he was not 100 per cent, I could feel it even in 20 minutes. And after, he didn’t play against (Aston) Villa. He was not involved in the 18 because he was with pain.
“With the international break he rest(ed) and he came (back) completely fit and ready. He is a player (that) we must manage. For example, in this moment he is 100 per cent, he is training 100 per cent. But with a game or when training is more hard, probably the next day we must manage him.
“We have three games next week and we believe that he can be important, if not in all the games, he will be important during the (Ipswich and Reading) games next week.”
The return of another Wednesday midfielder must wait a little while longer however, with Carvalhal adding of Sam Hutchinson: “The normal (period of absence) will be some weeks, like, I don’t know, maybe two months or something. But Sam is a different player, he is a player that usually recovers faster than others.
“We can’t (predict) when he will be back but sure that he will be back sooner than everybody expects.”
Lee, who missed much of the second half of last season and the first month of this, has proved an important player so far, scoring three goals and creating another in 10 appearances.
Hutchinson, meanwhile, has only played 45 minutes of football since August and his combative style arguably has been missed by the Owls.
Wednesday continue to be without attacking pair George Boyd and Fernando Forestieri.
