Jamie Carragher was left wishing that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane was playing for Leeds United or Manchester United yesterday at Elland Road rather than Wembley, as per his comments to Sky Sports.
Carragher was on commentary duty for Leeds’ game against Manchester United, and his disdain for the match was clear.
Carragher continuously slated the quality of football on display with Leeds playing out a 0-0 draw at their home ground.
In truth the game was not one of Leeds’ most entertaining since their promotion back to the top flight.
And when Kane’s fitness ahead of the League Cup final was mentioned, Carragher couldn’t resist making a joke about the Tottenham man.
“I wish Harry Kane was playing here today, we might get a goal,” Carragher said.
Even Kane may have struggled to find a goal yesterday, such was the paucity of chances both Leeds and Manchester United created.
There is, of course, a slim possibility that Kane could actually be visiting Elland Road in a red shirt next season.

The Independent says that a move to Old Trafford would appeal to the Tottenham captain.
However, whether Daniel Levy would even entertain selling Tottenham’s star man to a Premier League rival is another question.
