Jamie Carragher has urged Jurgen Klopp to pick Ozan Kabak for Liverpool against Manchester City on Sunday, with his comments in the Telegraph.

Liverpool are under huge pressure to pick up the three points against Pep Guardiola’s men, if they are to keep their slim title hopes alive.

To do so, Liverpool will require a much improved performance on what they have been producing recently.

And Carragher feels that the only way that the Reds can get back to their best is by bringing back the midfield which has worked so successfully for them in the past.

Carragher wants Jordan Henderson taken out of the defence and deployed further up the pitch, which would create an opening for Kabak to start.

“What is obvious is for Liverpool to have any chance of retaining the title, they must win on Sunday,” the Liverpool legend said.

“I doubt even that would be enough now. Knowing that is the case, I hope Klopp gives Kabak his debut, thus allowing Jordan Henderson to return to midfield and giving Liverpool a more familiar look in several positions.

“Klopp may be reluctant to throw in a new player against such a quality side. It feels low risk given where Liverpool are.

“It’s a big ask for Kabak and Davies, but it is sink or swim at this level.”

It still remains to be seen who Klopp will go with at the weekend, but the Daily Mirror have hinted that it won’t be Kabak.

The Mirror say that Klopp is going to stick with experience, with Henderson and Fabinho set to play in central defence.

A defeat on Sunday would be disastrous for the Reds, as it would leave them trailing City by 10 points.
