Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports, on Monday Night Football, that he thinks Liverpool should drop one of their midfielders and try Mohamed Salah as a central striker.
Liverpool have toiled away from home and their failure to pose much of an attacking threat is now causing a real concern.
The Reds, outside of a 7-0 victory over Crystal Palace, are starting to have real attacking problems, and they were on display again last night.
Liverpool were unable to find the back of the net against Southampton, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.
And Carragher feels that Klopp may now need to change the system, with Salah moved into a more central role.
He said: “A couple of years ago, when they just missed out on the title, Liverpool have always been a 4-3-3 team, but they had a spell in that season where they went 4-2-3-1 and Salah went through the middle, with Shaqiri a little bit from the right.
“I’m just thinking going forward before Jota comes back, or when he comes back, they may actually just tweak something, maybe take one of the midfield players out.
“The midfield players, whoever they are, very rarely look like scoring.

“They could put Salah up-front, Jota from the right, or Shaqiri from the right and just get an extra man on the pitch who can score and sacrifice one of the midfield players.”
Salah has actually looked slightly out of form when starting on the flank recently, so moving him into a more central role could aid him.
The £34 million Egyptian (BBC Sport) is never happy unless he is on the scoresheet, and being put in a more advanced role could help him find his way back among the goals again.
Liverpool’s defeat to Southampton means that they now look vulnerable at the top of the table, with a number of teams within touching distance.
