Liverpool and Manchester United are massive rivals, but Sky Sports pundit and former Anfield star Jamie Carragher has left club allegiance to the side and has hailed Harry Maguire on Twitter for his performance for England against the USA at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Maguire has not had the best of times at Manchester United for a while now and is not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup under head coach Erik ten Hag.
The 29-year-old has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Red Devils so far this season.
The centre-back has also made one start and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League so far this campaign.
Maguire was a controversial selection in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar, but he has proven to be arguably the best player for the Three Lions so far in the tournament so far.
The performance of England against the USA on Friday evening was hugely disappointing.

The Americans were the better side over the course of the 90 minutes and asked questions of the England defence, especially from set-pieces.
And Maguire was there to keep them out.
The United defender was brilliant defending from corners and also made the right challenges at the right time.
Maguire was a leader at the back for the Red Devils and was arguably the best player on the pitch for England.
And former Liverpool and England international defender Carragher was impressed, as you can see from his post on Twitter below.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that Maguire was “brilliant”.
