Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that he doesn’t think television does justice to just how good Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is.
Bamford took the headlines at the weekend for Leeds, as he scored and claimed an assist in their victory over Leicester City.
However, Carragher suggested that the Leeds forward doesn’t always get the credit he deserves, as his off the ball work doesn’t come across on the television screen as well as it does live in the stadium.
“I mentioned in the first half you couldn’t see all his movements on the tele, but when you see all the runs from up here, he thoroughly deserves what he’s got today,” Carragher said.
Bamford’s work-rate is one of the key reasons why Marcelo Bielsa has always kept faith in the Leeds forward.
Even when Bamford’s finishing ability was being questioned at Championship level, Bielsa very rarely took the 27-year-old out of his side, because of how well he played the system.
Bielsa’s faith in Bamford has been thoroughly rewarded this season, as the £10 million Leeds striker (Daily Mail) is enjoying the best run of form in his career to date.
Bamford has hit 11 goals in the Premier League so far this season, which puts him right up among the top scorers in the division.
