Jamie Carragher has said that Leeds United have made their hunt for a new manager a lot more challenging than it should be, as they continue to look for coaches in the mould of Marcelo Bielsa, as they did with the now-sacked Jesse Marsch.
Despite the Whites being 9 Premier League games without a single win, Michael Skubala remains in charge of the side on a caretaker basis, which suggests that they are yet to find their ideal man. A hammer blow for the club in this ongoing search for a brand-new head coach is they the likes of Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola and Carlos Corberan have rejected the opportunity.
However, Jamie Carragher has stated how the fault also lies at Leeds’ door for only eyeing a manager such as Marcelo Bielsa, which as seen with the Jesse Marsch experiment does not always work.
Carragher makes interesting Bielsa-Marsch claim about Leeds’ new manager search
It seems as if the club are now wedded to this idea of playing a fearless brand of football, as exemplified by the Argentine veteran.

However, Jamie Carragher wrote in his column for the Telegraph that Leeds’ attempts to find a new manager such as Marcelo Bielsa in Jesse Marsch and other future candidates smacks of stubborness.
“One theory about Leeds is they have made their recruitment process trickier as they are looking for a coach who will be able to work with players accustomed to the same formation and style as Marcelo Bielsa and [Jesse] Marsch. One of the attractions about Marsch was that his high-pressing game had similarities to his predecessor. Doesn’t the fact that both managers got sacked suggest they should be open to taking another path?”, Carragher said.
It certainly is a valid point and especially considering the current state Leeds find themselves in, they should listen to Jamie Carragher and prioritise the substance provided a pragmatic manager over the style that Bielsa and Marsch brought to the table.
