Jamie Carragher has raved about reported Liverpool target and Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips on Sky Sports Premier League (7:46pm, September 17, 2021).
The former Liverpool star believes that Leeds midfielder Phillips is a super player and has hailed the 25-year-old for his performances for England at the Euro 2020 finals this summer.
TEAMtalk reported this week interest in Phillips from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool among other clubs.
However, the report added that Leeds are prepared to make Phillips their highest-paid footballer to keep him at the club.
Carragher said about Phillips on Sky Sports Premier League (7:46pm, September 17, 2021): “I think he is a super player. He came into the nation’s attentions a lot more in the summer for his performance with England. He was outstanding. Everything goes through him (at Leeds).”

Would Kalvin Phillips make Liverpool better?
Now, we should make it clear that it is almost impossible that Leeds will sell Phillips in the middle of the season.
There is absolutely no chance that Liverpool will be able to sign the England international midfielder in the January transfer window.
However, there is no doubt that Phillips would make Liverpool a better team.

The 25-year-old is a dynamic midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park and can also drive the team forward.
Phillips would be the perfect replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum for Liverpool in midfield.
And he is still only 25.
