Jamie Carragher uploaded a hilarious image on Instagram involving his former Liverpool teammate and current Aston Villa boss, Steven Gerrard, after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars on Sunday.

The former Liverpool centre-back recently did an interview with Gerrard about his time at Villa and they ended it with an awkward-looking handshake.

Gerrard had the look of someone who was being forced to shake his brother’s hand after a falling out.

Well, Carragher used that image to react to the drama that unfolded at the Oscars last night.

Before Will Smith could win the award for best actor, the 53-year-old proceeded to get up on stage and swing at Chris Rock following his joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Following that drama, this is what Carragher posted on his Instagram involving his former Liverpool teammate and the current Villa boss.

With domestic football currently in hibernation because of the international break, when it returns to action, fans will be hoping it produces drama worthy of an Oscar.

Someone like Aston Villa, for themselves, don’t have anything to play for, but they could have a big say on the race for the Champions League places, the relegation battle and the Premier League title race.

With Liverpool pushing current leaders, Manchester City, hard in the race for English football’s top crown, this battle might just go down to the last day.

If that’s the case, then Villa and a certain Anfield legend could help Jurgen Klopp and his players to the title.

Liverpool host Wolves on the final day, whilst Manchester City welcome Aston Villa hoping that they already have the title wrapped up by then.

If they don’t, then prepare for some Oscar-like action to unfold on the final day of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
