Jamie Carragher is impressed with the quality of young player coming through in the city of Liverpool.
Pundit Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that he thinks Kieran Dowell is another young talented who can make the grade after Tom Davies’ impressive display against Manchester City.
Everton hammered Manchester City 4-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon, with Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas, Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman all finding the net.
Ronald Koeman’s men were superb in their thumping win, and it was midfielder Davies who stole the headlines with an outstanding display.

The 18-year-old, who has come up through the ranks at Goodison Park, started just his second Premier League game, and was a constant menace to City, providing a defence-splitting pass for Lukaku’s opener before executing a deft chip over Claudio Bravo for his goal.
Davies looks to have a huge future ahead of him, and whilst the plaudits have been flooding in for the teenager over the last 24 hours, pundit Jamie Carragher has named another Everton youngster who can impress with the Toffees.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher suggested that Kieran Dowell should have a great future ahead of him as well, before praising the talent coming through in the city of Liverpool as a whole with Jurgen Klopp’s men also developing youngsters.

“Davies is not the only one,” said Carragher. “There’s another midfield player at Everton in Kieran Dowell, who may come in the future.”
“There’s lots of players coming through at Goodison Park. We must also mention Liverpool. We are lucky in the city that lots of players come through both clubs,” he added.
Dowell, 19, has been on the books at Everton since 2005, and was handed a first Premier League start on the final day of last season against Norwich City, with the Toffees seemingly holding him in high regard.
Whilst Davies is a box-to-box midfielder, Dowell is a more attack-minded player who can play out wide or as a No. 10, and whilst a loan move may be his best path to playing first-team football this season, he could be playing in the Everton side with Davies in the not-too-distant future.
Carragher was also right to highlight the quality of Liverpool’s academy products too, as the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ovie Ejaria, Cameron Brannagan and Ben Woodburn look to have great careers ahead of them, with both Everton and Liverpool harnessing top young talent right now.
