LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 28: Jordan Pickford of Everton fails to save as Raphinha of Leeds United (not pictured) scores his team's first goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Leeds United at Goodison Park on November 28, 2020 in Liverpool, England. Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Raphinha, during Sky Sports’ coverage of Leeds’ win at Everton, and claimed that he was ‘outstanding from minute one’ at Goodison Park.

As per with Leeds, prior to Raphinha firing home, it was turning out to be a pretty entertaining encounter on Merseyside, without a goal being scored and the away side creating the bulk of the chances.

But the never-stop Leeds attitude was too much to handle for the home side, who couldn’t prevent Raphinha from drilling his shot from long-range, which Jordan Pickford couldn’t do anything about.

Carragher was impressed with what he saw from Leeds’ £17 million summer signing [BBC Sport] during his commentary stint for Sky.

“Well, he has been outstanding from minute one,” said Carragher. “He doesn’t want to shoot [initially for his goal], he actually opens up and looks for a pass.

“But there isn’t one there and he thinks ‘you know what let’s have a go’. Again, Leeds have been really good in situations like this all day. Tight areas, getting out of it and really good football.

“As I said, he looked really dangerous from minute one. He was charging in on Pickford’s goal early on.”

Not many Championship teams earn promotion to the promised land and look like seasoned professionals who are gunning for Europe.

But that’s exactly what Leeds have been displaying ever since they first stepped foot into the champions back yard on the opening day of the campaign.

It is pretty refreshing to see from the eagle-eyed and highly-demanding Marcelo Bielsa, but equally, it’s not surprising for those supporters who watched the Yorkshire giants tear it up week in and week out in the Championship.
