Could Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnoldbe shifted into midfield?

Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has touted Trent Alexander-Arnold for a midfield spot.
The Reds right-back is already considered his country’s best player in the position and one of Europe’s top talents.
But Carragher believes Alexander-Arnold is capable of even more, and says the world could see it if the 21-year-old gets a chance in midfield.
The former Liverpool defender says he believes Alexander-Arnold is superior to the club’s current options on the right side of midfield.
Carragher told Talksport: “I definitely see, going forward, if he wanted to play that role or if Liverpool have another right-back coming through or Liverpool wanted more creativity, there is no doubt.
“On the ball, he is probably better than what Liverpool have in those players.
“Those players have different strengths, but you could imagine him in that De Bruyne position – just tucked in on the right.”

The problem is Liverpool do not have anything more than a makeshift solution to fill in for Alexander-Arnold.
Carragher inadvertently presents a case for Liverpool to buy another right-back, who can not only provide cover for the England star, but give him the opportunity to move forward into midfield.
At present Liverpool do not have another young player ready to make the step up, and the Reds’ famed transfer committee should be considering the club’s options and scouring the market for a potential addition.
