Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson were named as surprise starters for the clash with Slovakia.

Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports he hopes Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana do well for England against Slovakia.
The Reds pair were named in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad last week and were then named as starters for the clash with Slovakia on Sunday.
The inclusion of both was something of a surprise, especially Henderson, given neither has exactly shone for the Three Lions before now.

And commenting on their inclusion, Carragher says he hopes they justify it by doing well for Allardyce in his first game in charge.
“Sam Allardyce is going to make changes and I think after the result against Iceland, you expected changes,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.
“I thought Adam Lallana did really well in the summer and was unfortunate not to play in the Iceland game. Jordan came in for one game and did very well too, and with my Liverpool hat on, I hope they do well.”

Indeed, both may have to perform well to ensure that they have an England future under the new manager.
Allardyce has already shown his willingness to give new blood its chance and that could see the likes of Henderson and Lallana, to name but two, put under threat.
As already mentioned, neither have exactly shone on the international stage before now and there are a plethora of players ready to come in and replace them should they fail to prove their worth in these games.
