Jamie Carragher says he feels Dejan Lovren is a big concern for Liverpool.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher admits he is nervous watching defender Dejan Lovren.

Signed for £20 million in the summer, the Croatian defender has been a real disappointment, and even lost his place in the side for a few games.

He featured against Manchester United, but could not help his side avoid a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Carragher, who had earlier been discussing the dropping of Simon Mignolet, told SkySports: “Lovren is another one.

“Every time the ball goes near him, you fear there’s going to be a mistake or a poor clearance and that’s what we saw today with the last goal.”

Carragher also went onto add that the new addition is not the only one making costly individual errors, and he’s right – but he is the worst offender.

Lovren has directly cost Liverpool two goals this season in the Premier League alone, while fellow new addition Alberto Moreno has also been responsible for the same amount. The difference with Lovren, is he has also caused five additional shots to be taken at goal.

Martin Skrtel is perhaps the luckiest, responsible for four shots being fired upon the Liverpool goal, but has not yet cost his side.
