Jamie Carragher has praised Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s owners in an interview with the Liverpool Echo.

Carragher has praised FSG for getting the German through the door in 2015, and for getting him to commit his future until 2024.

That said, the Sky Sports pundit doesn’t expect Klopp to stay at Anfield when that deal runs out.

Nine years is a long time to be in charge of a football club in the modern era, but of course many Reds fans would likely hope Klopp would stay even longer.

“They are the owners who have brought in Jurgen Klopp,” Carragher said of FSG.

“Klopp has been a massive success for them but to attract them at that time, the club were really struggling and that was a great fillip for them at the time.

“They brought in the first title in 30 years, they got Jurgen Klopp at this club for longer than he’s been at any other, I am not quite sure he will stay at the end of his current contract.

“And fingers crossed there’s a few more trophies before Klopp goes or FSG go, whatever stage that is.”

Working at the intensity Klopp has for nine years is not easy at all.

By 2024, he would expect to be blooding a new squad and he has the young talent at Anfield to do that.

This isn’t a sensational quote from Carragher; more of an acceptance in the modern game that dynasties aren’t built over 20 or more years now.

It remains to be seen what Klopp does in 2024, but between now and then, there’s plenty of scope for him to make even more history with Liverpool.
