Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports during their live coverage of Tottenham’s draw at Goodison Park that he needs to see ‘a lot more’ from Tanguy Ndombele.
The former Premier League defender understands that ‘a lot of Spurs fans’ their quick-footed Frenchman, but he is yet to be fully convinced.
Ndombele arrived in North London as a big-money signing, and he initially struggled under Mauricio Pochettino and then Jose Mourinho.
But after a few harsh words from the outspoken Portuguese boss, Ndombele has been one of Tottenham’s exciting players, but Carragher shared that he needs to see more.
“He was a big-money signing,” said Carragher. “Ndombele is a player who a lot of Spurs fans like.
“He’s got ability. He has shown some lovely touches, at times. But, I must be honest. I feel I have to see a lot more. I really do.
“Every time I see him, I see nice glimpses and little things happening. But you could say he didn’t get a lot of the ball (against Everton).
“But demand (the ball), want to make an impression in the game. I always feel like I need to see more from him.”

There have been some flashes of brilliance from Ndombele this season, perhaps his best moment coming when he scored that brilliant flicked goal against Sheffield United.
On Friday night, he was brought off midway through the second half as Spurs recorded a 2-2 draw with Everton.
But with another Premier League encounter in midweek and that League Cup final looming, Mourinho perhaps had an eye on the fixtures coming up.
