Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports that he ‘doesn’t know how’ John W Henry, his wife, Linda, and the club’s chairman, Tom Werner, will be allowed back at Liverpool following the drama of the ESL.
It’s been a crazy 48 hours in football, which saw six Premier League sides vow to start a European Super League, only for all of that to capitulate in front of their eyes by Tuesday evening.
As quick as it took Liverpool to announce that they were joining the ESL, they were even quicker in announcing last night that they are no longer going to take part in that controversial league.
And given the drama that has come out of these last few days, Carragher cannot see how the Liverpool owner can sit with the fans at Anfield now.
“I don’t see how John Henry can sit in that wonderful Main Stand that he was a big part in building,” said Carragher.
“I don’t know how he sits their and watches a game. Him, or Tom Werner, his wife, Linda. I don’t see how they can come to the club on the back of this because this will never be forgotten.
“I think the best thing for them will be to find a buyer. I am not sure how easy that is in the situation we are in. But I think it’s going to be very difficult for them to have any sort of relationship with the Liverpool supporters and the club going forward.”

When your own manager, Jurgen Klopp, is coming out and sharing that he is against such an idea then you are in deep trouble.
But what was even worse for club’s like Liverpool was that all of English football, bar a few owners and their chief executives, were against everything they were planning of doing.
All six English clubs have since withdrawn from the ESL, along with AC Milan in Italy, as a select few remain standing, but it won’t be too long before they are on their knees begging for forgiveness as well.
