Carlton Cole said on talkSPORT (9:54am, October 12, 2020) that Said Benrahma and Joshua King would be good signings for West Ham United.

The former West Ham striker believes that Brentford star Benrahma is “the playmaker” the Hammers are looking for and will excite the fans.

Cole, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, added that Bournemouth striker King would make David Moyes’s side better.

According to The Guardian, West Ham want to sign Benrahma – who can operate as a winger or as a forward – before the summer transfer window in England closes on Friday and are confident of securing his services this week.

The Daily Star has reported that the Hammers are likely to make a new bid for King following Sky Sports’ report that the London club’s initial offer of £13 million for the Norway international striker was turned down by Bournemouth.

Cole said on talkSPORT (9:54am, October 12, 2020): “At the start of the window, everyone was saying here we go then. Sometimes you’ve got to be patient.

“If we get Benrahma, he will be a great signing for the club – he’s the playmaker we’ve been looking for. Benrahma will get bums off seats and fans clapping.

“He’s got the spice needed to unlock defences. King will be a great acquisition, it means we’ll be looking to score lots of goals. It will be great business.”
