Tottenham Hotspur striker Carlos Vinicius has told the club’s official website that he simply couldn’t refuse a move to the club.
Spurs were seeking a new striker over the summer, with Jose Mourinho desperate to bring in cover and competition for Harry Kane up top.
A host of names were linked, but Spurs ended up securing a deal for Vinicius, taking him on loan with a view to a permanent move next summer.
Vinicius has already made a couple of strong appearances, impressing as a starter against LASK and as a substitute against West Bromwich Albion.
The Brazilian will have plenty of opportunities to earn that permanent move, and he has now been discussing his rise from a nomad in Brazil to playing for one of the biggest clubs in England.
Sitting down with compatriot Lucas Moura, Vinicius admitted that he just couldn’t refuse Tottenham, and it’s now ‘for real’ having seen himself on the internet referred to as a Spurs player.
An emotional Vinicius noted his struggles in reaching this level, and now can’t believe that he is playing for a ‘top of the top’ manager in Jose Mourinho and surrounded by some of the best players in the world.

Vinicius added that Tottenham’s stadium is ‘crazy’ and imagined himself playing there as soon as he saw it, but wants to see it crowded with fans – something that of course isn’t possible right now.
“Man, you know, the greatness of this club… and the Premier League, number one, the biggest,” said Vinicius. “When you get an invitation like that, there’s no way to refuse, you know. So I told myself, now it’s for real. As they say, now it’s for real. Because, man even now when Im in the club, when you see it on the web, you look back and see all you went through… and you’re like ‘Man, I’m at the top.’”
“With a trainer that’s above critique, top of the top. You look at your side and only the best players. The structure here, my friends ask me about it, I tell them “Man, I don’t even know how to explain it”. Phew, that stadium – crazy, it doesn’t exist. When you look at the details, it’s all top of the line. As soon as you look at it you imagine yourself in there, imagine it crowded with people,” he added.
