Chivas Guadalaja midfielder Carlos Pena has been quoted by the Daily Mail as saying that he wants to do his talking on the pitch as he prepare to join Rangers.

The Gers have had a busy week so far, as on Wednesday afternoon, they confirmed the signing of centre back Bruno Alves on a two-year deal, landing him from Italian side Cagliari.

On Thursday, Rangers made it two signings in two days, as midfielder Ryan Jack completed his long-anticipated move from Aberdeen to Ibrox, signing on a free transfer after his contract expired with the Dons.

However, having finished third in the Scottish Premiership table, manager Pedro Caixinha must work hard to bring in a number of new signings, with plenty of work still to do.

Another new face looks to be on the way though, as the Daily Mail note that Chivas Guadalajara midfielder Carlos Pena is flying to Glasgow in order to undergo a medical with the Gers.

Pena, 27, has some impressive numbers from his time in Mexico; 28 goals in 89 games for Club Leon saw him earn a 2016 move to Guadalajara, where he hit eight goals in 31 appearances before returning to Club Leon on loan at the end of last year.

Now, the 19-cap Mexico international is heading to Rangers, and he has been quoted as saying that his dream has been to play in Europe, and he wants to do his talking on the pitch.

Pena added that he thanks Caixinha for making the deal possible, and he hopes to recapture his best form during his time at Ibrox, whilst also hoping to get along with Rangers supporters.

“I hope to speak on the pitch,” said Pena. “It is my dream to go to Europe and I hope everything will go all right. My aim is to get back to my former level of playing and to get along with the coach Caixinha and with all the supporters over there. My representative and I were looking for this but it was Caixinha who made it possible,” he added.
