Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are expected to welcome Carlos Pena to the club next week.
Carlos Pena’s agent Salvador Necochea has confirmed to the Daily Record that his client’s move to Glasgow Rangers is set to go ahead as planned.
Pena has been one of Pedro Caixinha’s top targets at Ibrox, and Rangers appeared to have got their man.
However, work permit complications have put the deal in some doubt, with Rangers left anxiously waiting.
Pena’s agent, Necochea, has helped to calm fears that the Mexican international’s move to Glasgow could fall through though.
He said: “Rangers have told us everything is likely to go through. We are not thinking about it being rejected.
“There is no Plan B – if he didn’t get it he would head back to Chivas, but we are sure that won’t be the case.
“The process is being led directly by Rangers’ law firm. It’s already under way and we are hoping we could have the permit by Monday next week.”
If Pena does join Rangers, he will be one of a number of additions to arrive at Ibrox this summer.
Rangers have already confirmed the signings of Bruno Alves and Ryan Jack, and more are set to follow.
Rangers are linked with a whole host of players, as Caixinha reshuffles his squad.
Rangers finished in third place in the Scottish Premiership this season, and are under pressure to improve considerably next term.
