Carlos Pena comments on his future at Glasgow Rangers

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed Carlos Pena in the summer transfer window.

Carlos Pena has told the Scottish Sun that he wants to see out his contract at Glasgow Rangers, even though he doesn’t like the Scottish weather.

Pena arrived at Rangers from Mexican side Guadalajara during the summer transfer window in a £2.2 million switch, but the midfielder hasn’t made the impact many were expecting.

Pena has been able to make just 12 appearances for the Light Blues since moving to Ibrox, with fitness issues plaguing his time in Scotland so far.

However, the 27-year-old insists that he is happy at Rangers, and sees no reason to leave the club.

“I am concentrating on Rangers and I hope to complete my three-year contract,” Pena said.

“I have my contract and we will see what happens.

“I am happy here at Rangers. I have scored five goals and feel good about that.

“I can act as a playmaker or play a deeper role.

“I am comfortable in Scotland. The only thing we do not like is the weather because it’s very cold.

“I do not speak much English yet, but it’s not something that prevents me from being happy.”

Pena was brought in by previous Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha, who snapped up a lot of players from overseas during the summer transfer window.

The Mexican was one of the highest profile signings Rangers made, but he has only shown his quality in patches so far.

Pena has scored five goals for Rangers to date, but is yet to earn a consistent run of games in the starting line-up.

Pena could be in action for Rangers later this evening, when the Light Blues take on Motherwell in Scottish Premiership action.
