Ian Holloway or Neil Harris should get the Sunderland managerial role, suggests Carlos Edwards.
The Black Cats are looking for a new manager following the recent departure of Jack Ross.
Former Sunderland right-back Edwards, who is now on the books of Woodbridge Town, has backed Harris or Holloway for the managerial role at the Stadium of Light.
Edwards told The Daily Mail: “Two candidates that came to mind were Neil Harris and Ian Holloway. Two totally different coaches and two different personalities, but brings a lot to the table.
“However way you look at it, they have something. They have proven a lot by being promoted and I’ve actually played under both managers and I know how they think, I know how they go about doing business.”

Holloway is one of the most experienced managers in English football, and he will know everything about the Sunderland job.
The Englishman is without a managerial job at the moment following his departure from QPR in 2018, and he could be tempted into a move to the Stadium of Light.
However, Harris is the better option. The 42-year-old recently left Millwall and was a huge success at the Lions, and he will be able to build a strong team at Sunderland who can get promoted from League One and be a success in the Championship.
