Leeds earned a 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.

Carlos Corberan has heaped praise on Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa when speaking to the Whites’ official website for the Argentine’s faith in the club’s academy players.
Leeds earned a 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night to move into second place in the Championship table, thanks to Stuart Dallas’ second-half strike. Middlesbrough and Norwich City both dropped points.
The Whites started with academy stars Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Kalvin Phillips, before Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton were introduced as substitutes in the second half.
Peacock-Farrell produced a marvellous penalty save in the 89th minute to hold onto all three points, while Clarke shone in the second half after replacing Gjanni Alioski. Under-23 boss Corberan was applauded Bielsa’s faith in Leeds’ youth.
“I believe Marcelo is one coach who believes a lot in the academy players,” Corberan said. “He’s not worried about the age of our players, he’s only worried about the quality of our players.
“Whether it is in training or the Under-23 matches, they are showing they deserve to play in the first team. The important thing is not how old the players are, or where they come from, the most important thing is whether they are able to help the team.”

The likes of Shackleton and Clarke have broken into the first team this season, while Will Huffer and Aapo Halme made their debuts for the club on Saturday in the 2-0 win over Bristol City.
Now in second, Leeds are two points behind leaders Norwich City in second. They face a tough test against local rivals Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime.
