Leeds United Under-23 manager Carlos Corberan has praised the club’s director of football Victor Orta, as quoted by Leeds Live.

Corberan, who was appointed in his role in July 2017, has praised Orta and Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani for their investment in the Leeds Under-23 side and signing some very good players.

“For me, one big club has to always have big teams in the academy and big players,” Corberan told Leeds Live.

“I think the work of Victor Orta and the work of Andrea with the academy is great, it’s brilliant because with the new players and with the players we were working with before now we have a great team and they are helping us to be the future of this great club and this is very positive for everyone.”

Wonderful results

The Leeds Under-23 side are in great form at the moment and won 3-0 against their Cardiff City counterparts at Thorp Arch on Friday.

It was Corberan’s side’s fourth win in a row and is in stark contrast to the results and performances of the first team.

The Leeds senior side are pretty much out of the running for the Championship playoffs this season and are struggling to win games.

Leeds director of football Orta and chairman Radrizzani should be praised for the quality young players they have brought to Elland Road for the youth team, such as Sam Dalby, Jordan Stevens and Oriol Rey.

It will take some time for these young footballers to become ready for the first team, but Leeds’ future does indeed look bright.
