Newcastle United made a new record signing.

Newcastle United have a new record signing after paying up for Miguel Almiron.
BBC Sport reported Newcastle paid £20 million to sign the Paraguay international from MLS side Atlanta United.
The attacking midfielder arrives with high hopes, which are not dampened by the assessment of former Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal.
Carvalhal told Sky Sports News’ deadline day coverage at 7pm that he believes Almiron is ‘perfect’ for Newcastle.
He believes the combination of Almiron’s talent and a tactical fit with Rafa Benitez’s system will make the signing a success.

Carvalhal said: “He’s perfect for Newcastle, who usually play 4-2-3-1, he’s perfect for the game of Rafa Benitez.
“They needed a player to break the lines. He moves very well in the centre, scores goals, he’s fast. He’s a very interesting player.
“He will improve the game of Newcastle, and when he is completely adapted will be a very important player.”
Almiron will hope to come into consideration for Newcastle as soon as this weekend when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Newcastle are on a high after beating Manchester City this week and confidence is suddenly sky high. Almiron’s arrival will lift morale further.
