Sheffield Wednesday are on the look out for a new centre-back this summer.
Wednesday are known to be in the market for defenders, with their current options very short.
But at the moment the Owls have not managed to get a deal over the line for a new defender.
Some frustrations have been voiced by Owls supporters, who are concerned at their side’s lack of progress in the transfer market.
However, Carvalhal insists that he is not panicking, as the new season draws closer.
“These kind of things take time,” the Portuguese boss explained. “We don’t want to make mistakes.
“We have had chances to bring in centre-halves but we have not found the correct ones.
“My staff and I have seen more than 200 centre-backs but for various reasons we have not brought
“We are caring about it. We are not desperate even though everybody knows we need centre-backs.
“We have looked at players in the Premier League, the Championship, League One, League Two and abroad.”
Wednesday only have two centre-back options in their current squad at the moment, in the shape of Glenn Loovens and Tom Lees.
And with the season drawing ever closer, Wednesday are under pressure to get a transfer over the line swiftly.
Wednesday start their season with a match against Preston North End and Deepdale in two weekends’ time.
