Sheffield Wednesday do not have much money to spend in January, according to Carlos Carvalhal.

Wednesday are keen to add some quality to their squad, but Carvalhal has suggested that doing so could be a problem.
The Portuguese boss is not expecting to have masses of funds to spend, and he is now waiting to see who will become available.
“We will see which players we can achieve in January,” he said. “We are happy with our players

“Let’s see if we can do something but we don’t have the budget to spend money and the chairman has been very clear (on this).
More crucial to buying players to Carvalhal is ensuring that none of Wednesday current stars depart.
The Owls have a squad of enviable quality at Championship level, and Carvalhal wants to keep his side together.
“We are not planning on selling any players. You never know in the market but we are not planning on selling anyone,” he added.

Wednesday are currently in 11th place in the Championship table, with their form patchy throughout the campaign so far.
The Owls have fallen short of the play offs over the last two seasons, and have ambitions to go one step further this time around.
Wednesday are next in action against Reading at the Madejski Stadium at the weekend.
