Carlos Carvalhal has a positive message for Sheffield Wednesday fans

Sheffield Wednesday lost against Derby County in the Championship at the weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has told The Star that he is confident that the club will get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Wednesday have finished in the top six of the Championship for the past two seasons.

The Owls, though, are not doing well at the moment and currently find themselves as low as 16th in the league table.

Carvalhal’s side have picked up just 16 points from 13 matches, six more than third-from-bottom Burton Albion and six fewer than sixth-placed Norwich City.

Wednesday fans must be hugely frustrated and disappointed with the team’s performances and results so far this season, but Carvalhal has said that he has a feeling that the Owls will get promoted.

“The gap is increasing (at the top) but I still believe we can get promoted,” Carvalhal told The Star. “I have a feeling we will get promoted.”

Meanwhile, Carlton Palmer has stated on social networking site Twitter that it is time for Carvalhal to leave.

The former Wednesday midfielder made the comment following the Owls’ 2-0 defeat to Derby County away from home at the Pride Park Stadium in the Championship last Saturday afternoon.
