Sam Hutchinson has been a regular for Sheffield Wednesday so far this season.
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is happy with the playing style of Sam Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is an all-action midfielder and has picked up 10 bookings in 15 matches.
The 26-year-old former England Under-19 international is serving a two-match suspension, and many will suggest that he needs to change his playing style.
However, Wednesday head coach Carvalhal does not seem to have any problems with the former Chelsea prospect and has told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “Yellow cards? That’s the way he plays. It’s not red cards, they are yellow cards. I have other players to play in the position when he can’t play.
“We need him the way he plays, we need Sam like this. If he misses one or two games, because he has yellow cards, that’s not a problem to me.
“It’s a problem if he plays in a different way, and doesn’t play with the high intensity which we think he must play.”
Hutchinson, who joined Wednesday on a permanent contract in the summer of 2014, missed this past weekend’s Championship game against Huddersfield Town at home.
The midfielder is also suspended for this Saturday’s league game against Blackburn Rovers away from home at Ewood Park.
The former Nottingham Forest loanee has created seven chances in 13 Championship appearances for the Owls so far this season. Hutchinson has a pass accuracy of 79%, and has won 16 headers and 17 tackles.
Wednesday are eighth in the Championship table at the moment with 27 points from 17 matches, just a point behind sixth-place Birmingham City.
