Manchester United have been chasing Carlos Baleba, but so far, they have not made any progress.
Looking to strengthen their midfield, the Red Devils had placed Carlos Baleba at the top of their list.
The club held discussions with Brighton and were even prepared to break their transfer record for him, but Brighton’s leadership turned them away.
The Seagulls made it clear that Baleba was not available for transfer and wanted to put an end to the speculation until the window closed.
Carlos Baleba returns to the pitch

Carlos Baleba missed Brighton’s final pre-season game through injury but was named in the starting XI for their Premier League opener.
He played 69 minutes of Brighton’s 1-1 draw with Fulham, coming off before the visitors equalised in stoppage time.
Afterwards, Baleba posted on Instagram, seemingly unfazed by ongoing transfer rumours.
“Just me doing the thing I love most. Had fun playing at home with the boys,” he wrote.
“Nothing new here, just my number and a haircut 🙂”
#areyouabaleba was added as a hashtag to his post.
Many Man United fans replied to his post, continuing to ask him to help make the transfer a reality.
How Carlos Baleba played
Carlos Baleba was involved in five defensive actions during Brighton’s draw and took one shot that missed the target.
He completed 90 percent of his passes, finished with 34 touches, and earned a 7.2 rating from FotMob.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has made it clear that Baleba is not going anywhere, so Man United may need to turn their attention elsewhere.
This leaves United with a choice: use the funds they set aside for Baleba on another high-quality option now, or bring in a short-term solution and revisit their interest in him next year.
