Carlos Alcaraz continues to catch the eye at the Australian Open, where he is much-loved by the fans.

Alcaraz was as cheerful as ever in his latest on-court interview, undoubtedly helped by the fact that he won the match.

The Spanish superstar, who is currently the number one-ranked player on the ATP Tour, is now into the Australian Open third round.

Alcaraz played the role of the villain by beating Australian Adam Walton, before knocking out German Yannick Hanfmann.

Carlos Alcaraz suggests Roger Federer is better at golf than him

After that victory, the Spaniard was pressured on court to reveal who recently joined him for a round of golf.

Somewhat apprehensive at first, he confirmed that he played with 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.

Rating the tennis legend’s golf game, Alcaraz said: “It’s as beautiful as the tennis. I’m not surprised. It’s unbelievable.

“Everything he does, he does in style, really beautiful. On the golf course, it’s a really beautiful swing.

“I think he’s been playing for two years now, and his level is really, really good for two years. I’ve been playing five and he’s already beating me. It hurts, yeah.”

Roger Federer rolls back the years at the Australian Open

Federer will, of course, be remembered most fondly for his efforts on the tennis court, particularly at Wimbledon.

He triumphed at the All England Club eight times, more than any other man, although his honors list also includes six Australian Open titles.

Much to the delight of the fans in Melbourne, Federer recently returned to the Grand Slam for an exhibition.

He was joined by Andre Agassi, Pat Rafter and Lleyton Hewitt, while he truly rolled back the years by beating ATP Tour player Casper Ruud in a practice match.

It’s clear that Federer is a hugely talented sportsman in general, although he isn’t the only tennis star to dabble in golf.

Current players Alcaraz and Ruud are both avid golfers, while British legend Andy Murray has been heavily involved in the sport since retiring last year.
